Cousins: Embiid can be best big in NBA after I retire
Monday's matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings was a back-and-forth slugfest featuring two of the NBA's premiere big men in All-Star DeMarcus Cousins and Rookie of the Year favorite Joel Embiid.
Boogie emerged victorious on this occasion, finishing with 30 points, seven rebounds, and five assists on 10-of-20 shooting in a 102-100 win for Sacramento at home. Embiid was no slouch himself, though, scoring 25 points and grabbing eight boards with two rejections.
After the game, Boogie offered up high praise for his counterpart, giving Embiid his seal of approval.
"I like that kid a lot. I don't give a lot of people props, but I like that kid a lot. I think he's got a great chance of being the best big in the league after I retire," said Cousins.
