Cowboys' Tyron Smith won't play in season finale

Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith won't play in the team's regular-season finale Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a knee injury he aggravated in the Week 16 win over the Detroit Lions, head coach Jason Garrett announced Tuesday, according to The Dallas Morning News' Brandon George.

A source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that Smith sustained a sprained MCL, but that he will be ready to go for the playoffs.

With a first-round bye already secured, the Cowboys will give Smith nearly three weeks to get healthy.

Smith is arguably the most integral part of one of the best offensive lines in the league, so Dallas is wise to allow him to recover after he's played at less than 100 percent for the majority of the campaign.
