Twitter explodes during insane 9-goal 2nd period between Caps, Pens
Best second period ever.
It was 2-0 for the Washington Capitals over the Pittsburgh Penguins after 20 minutes. It was 6-5 for the Pens after 40.
The middle 20 minutes Monday night were insane, and here are some of the best Twitter reactions:
Condolences to all the truly wise and sophisticated fans out there who like 1-0 games for having to endure this one. Stay strong, guys.

After recording four shutouts in their previous six games, the Capitals obviously were due to allow six goals in a period.

They're even watching in London, England:
I have watched 11 minutes of hockey this year and witnessed seven goals. Er, eight goals. So many goals! This is fun.

#Caps hadn't allowed an even-strength goal in 321:22 of even-strength time. Have allowed 5 in 8:09 tonight at #Pens.
