Report: Cavaliers not interested in Carmelo Anthony

The Cleveland Cavaliers have no interest in trading for Carmelo Anthony, sources told ESPN's Ryen Russillo.

Anthony's close relationship with LeBron James has helped give rise to multiple rumors of uniting the duo over the years, but the Cavs have a more immediate need for backcourt depth.

In order to make a trade work financially, the logical outgoing candidate would be power forward Kevin Love, something Russillo reports is also a non-starter in a swap for Anthony. After struggling at times to integrate offensively with James and Kyrie Irving in his first two seasons with the Cavs, Love is having his most efficient campaign to date in Cleveland.

Anthony has a no-trade clause in his contract with the New York Knicks, and recent reports indicated - although Anthony himself questioned the source - that he would only approve a deal to the Cavs or the Los Angeles Clippers.

James, meanwhile, has been public in his calls for the Cavaliers to add an experienced playmaking guard that can mop up minutes behind him and Irving.
