Report: Cavaliers interested in Melo; won't give up Love

The Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in acquiring Carmelo Anthony, but will not give up Kevin Love in that potential swap, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

The Knicks, however, remain fixated on prying Love from Cleveland.

Knicks president Phil Jackson is determined to move Anthony in hopes of sparking a rebuild centered around sophomore Kristaps Porzingis. However, since Anthony has a full no-trade clause, discussions have only taken place between Jackson and Anthony's preferred destinations.

The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers were also approached as potential landing spots for Anthony.

Anthony and LeBron James are known to be great friends, and the two would presumably welcome a chance to join forces. However, it's unclear if Anthony would green-light a move away from New York, where his wife and child are entrenched.

"That's more about what I care about, my family," Anthony told Frank Isola of the New York Daily News. "My son being comfortable in New York at an age now where he's really getting an opportunity to understand being in New York and having a home there and having friends there.

"My wife working there and having opportunities there. … I think about that more so than my decision for my career," Melo said. "At the end of the day, it will come down to my decision. But I think more about my decision and what they're going to have to go through if anything would happen."

Anthony has two seasons remaining on his contract beyond this season worth $54.2 million.
