Report: Joe Mixon not among NFL Scouting Combine invitees
The NFL's list of scouting combine participants is reportedly missing one particularly notable prospect from this year's draft class.
Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon was not included on the invite list recently sent to teams around the league, sources told Tom Pelissero of USA Today.
Mixon was charged with misdemeanor assault and suspended for his freshman season after punching a female student at a campus restaurant in July 2014.
Video of the incident, which resulted in the woman suffering several broken bones in her face, was released in December.
Though Mixon will jump to the professional ranks as one of the most talented ball-carriers in the nation, organizations will undoubtedly be taking far more than his on-field ability into consideration as they formulate their evaluations.
Because the lack of a combine invite will see him miss out on the ever-important team interview portion of the yearly event, potential visits in March and April will presumably go a long way toward determining whether he gets drafted.
Mixon finished his Oklahoma career with 2,027 rushing yards, 894 receiving yards, and 26 offensive touchdowns across two seasons from 2015-16.
