Potential No. 1 pick Myles Garrett won't attend 2017 NFL Draft
Former Texas A&M standout and potential No.1 overall pick Myles Garrett said he won't attend the 2017 NFL Draft and intends to watch it from his home in Arlington, Texas, according to the Houston Chronicle's Brent Zwerneman.
Despite the fact he is all but certain to be chosen in the top three picks, Garrett told Zwerneman nothing will change his mind as he wants to be with his family.
The NFL usually announces the draft attendees in April, with 25 players opting to go to the event last year.
Garrett is widely expected to be taken by the Cleveland Browns at the top of the draft, and is viewed as an instant-impact edge rusher with All-Pro potential.
The 21-year-old's 2016 season was limited by injuries. He missed three games, but still recorded 33 tackles (15 for loss) and 8.5 sacks.
In the two seasons prior, Garrett racked up 22.5 total sacks, emerging as one of the most talented defensive players in college football.
