Watch: Lewis mauls Browne for comeback 2nd-round KO in UFC Halifax main event

When in doubt, start "swangin' and bangin'."

That trusty formula served Derrick Lewis well Sunday, as he fought through some devastating body blows to finish Travis Browne with vicious ground-and-pound 3:12 into the second round of the heavyweight main event of UFC Fight Night 105 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Browne appeared to have been knocked unconscious several blows before referee Mario Yamasaki called for the stoppage, and commentator Brian Stann promptly criticized the official for his tardiness.

"The Black Beast" gained sole possession of the promotion's longest active heavyweight winning streak with his sixth consecutive victory, and capped his demolition of Browne with an equally memorable post-fight interview. In a span of seconds, Lewis condemned Browne for the domestic violence allegations leveled against him in 2015, cat-called Browne's girlfriend Ronda Rousey, and announced he needed to use the facilities - pronto.

After fighting five times in the past 12 months, the 32-year-old nonchalantly declared his heavy workload and equally busy sex life had earned him an extended vacation.

The punishment Lewis took in the first round alone would have been enough for any mortal to call for some R&R, as Browne methodically walked him down and connected with several brutal kicks to the body. Lewis visibly favored his alien liver every time the Hawaiian's kicks found their home, but he came into the second frame good as new after his corner thoroughly iced his midsection.

It was all Lewis from there, as the New Orleans native came out swinging and didn't stop until he'd put Browne on his hind parts. "The Black Beast" then proceeded to wear the 34-year-old down on the mat, and when Browne made it back to his feet, Lewis uncorked some more haymakers to crumble him again before raining bombs on his dome for the stoppage.

Once touted as a heavyweight title challenger in the making, Browne has fallen miserably from grace over his last handful of bouts, having dropped three straight and four of his past five. His UFC record now stands at 9-6-1.
