The New Orleans Pelicans are waiving small forward Omri Casspi and signing small forward Reggie Williams, league sources tell The Vertical's Shams Charania.
The move comes just a day after reports indicated that Casspi would miss the next four-to-six weeks with a broken thumb.
Casspi played in just one game for New Orleans after coming over in a trade with DeMarcus Cousins, collecting 12 points and two rebounds in Thursday's defeat to the Houston Rockets. The 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 6.1 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists this season.
Williams appeared in five games for New Orleans earlier this season, averaging 5 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.8 assists on 35 percent shooting.
