D'Antoni wants Rockets to take 50 threes a game for rest of season
Back in November, the Houston Rockets did the seemingly unthinkable when they hoisted 50 3-pointers in a game, the first time a team had ever hit that threshold for long-range bombing.
Three months later, coach Mike D'Antoni says he wants his team to average that many threes.
Since that groundbreaking November contest, the Rockets have launched at least 50 threes seven times, including a record 61 attempts in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans. They now own the four most prolific 3-point-hucking games in league history. In Saturday's win over the Minnesota Timberwolves - a game in which they scored 142 points - the Rockets attempted 58 triples, and just one field goal from inside the arc and outside the paint, producing a shot chart straight out of a Daryl Morey fever dream.

In the eight games they've put up at least 50 threes, the Rockets are 6-2.
