Mike Williams announced Friday that he won't run the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, saying it had been "a long season" and he didn't have the time to prepare properly, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News.
The top wide receiver prospect in this year's draft said he'll do the event at the Clemson Pro Day on March 19.
It's not uncommon for top prospects for skip the 40-yard dash, especially when they aren't 100 percent healthy, as a poor time can significantly affect a players' draft stock.
Williams excelled during a four-year career at Clemson, finishing the 2016 season with 98 catches for 1,361 yards and 11 touchdowns.
