LeBron approves of Cavaliers potentially signing Sanders
Larry Sanders hasn't stepped on an NBA court since February 2015, and despite his constant assurances that he's physically and mentally prepared to return to the Association, there's really no way of knowing how he'll fare until a team gives him an opportunity.
The reigning champion Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly in serious contract discussions with the 28-year-old, as they're in need of a big man off of their bench after losing Andrew Bogut to a serious leg injury.
LeBron James has jokingly developed a reputation for being the team's true general manager, having the pull to make personnel decisions behind the scenes based on his standing within the organization. If Sanders does eventually earn himself a roster spot with the playoffs just around the corner, The King would definitely be on board.
"It looks like he wants another opportunity and hopefully if we're the team, hopefully we give him an opportunity," James said Saturday, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "Why not? Everyone deserves a second chance and it looks like he wants to get back to playing the game he loves and hopefully this is his destination. You don't know how much you can get out of a guy that's been out so long, but I'd love to see it. Why not?"

Sanders was an elite shot-blocker during his five seasons as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 3.3 rejections per 36 minutes from 2010 through 2015. Cleveland currently ranks 25th overall in blocks, averaging four per game, lacking a rim-protector who can alter shots or send them flying.
The Cavaliers are reportedly in talks with several players to fill the now vacated spot created by Bogut's injury, including Sanders. The former 15th overall pick has averages of 6.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks in 233 total appearances.
