Sherman downplays trade rumors: 'I just laugh it off'
It's uncertain if the Seattle Seahawks are looking to trade Richard Sherman this offseason - as recently reported by former NFL executive Mike Lombardi - but if they are, the star cornerback isn't letting the rumors get to him.
Sherman downplayed the trade talk Friday during an appearance on ESPN's "First Take."
"I just laugh it off, man," Sherman said, according to ESPN's Sheil Kapadia. "It’s funny to me. But sometimes people need to see you gone to realize what you had. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. But I don't let things like that bother me. The chips will fall how they're supposed to."
Sherman has two years remaining on his contract with the Seahawks, but he's coming off a season in which he struggled somewhat due to a knee injury and will turn 29 late this month - an age at which players at his position typically begin to decline.
