Watch: Wings' Athanasiou outruns Wild for OT breakaway winner

The play of rookie forward Andreas Athanasiou has been a definite bright spot in an otherwise down year for the Detroit Red Wings.

His blazing speed and exceptional skill set was on full display on this overtime breakaway goal on Devan Dubnyk and the Minnesota Wild.

The goal was Athanasiou's 17th in 59 games. At that pace, he'd be good for 24 over 82 appearances, which would be impressive considering his average ice time of 13:33.

Minnesota, by the way, has now dropped 11 of 13 games in March.
