Fantasy: 5 moves you need to make for Round 2 of playoffs

Every week, theScore offers a fantasy hockey column detailing a handful of moves you should make. This edition focuses on Round 2 of the playoffs, although that may not apply to all leagues. Roster percentages and position eligibility are courtesy of Yahoo.

Add Jake Oettinger

Team: Stars
Position: G
Rostered: 30%

Oettinger has won back-to-back games for the Stars, allowing just one goal in each contest. Dallas plays the lowly Detroit Red Wings four times this week, and Oettinger could start at least twice. That's likely two wins with plenty of shutout potential.

The 22-year-old rookie has been rock solid for Dallas all season, posting a .919 save percentage and a 2.16 goals-against average in 22 games. He's, at least temporarily, taken over the starting reins from veteran Anton Khudobin.

Add Denis Gurianov

Team: Stars
Position: LW/RW
Rostered: 17%

As mentioned, fantasy managers should take advantage of Dallas' highly favorable schedule this week.

Gurianov is the best bet if you're looking for offense. He provides the most upside among available Stars skaters. Gurianov recently busted out of a six-game pointless streak and now has three goals and two helpers in his last two contests. He skates on the team's second line and second power-play unit.

If you don't have room for another forward in your lineup, consider defenseman Esa Lindell (26%). He's not a huge point producer, but he averages over 23 minutes per game and leads the team with 81 blocks.

Looking ahead, Tyler Seguin (64%) could make his season debut April 26. He might be worth adding now if you have an open IR spot.

Add Mikael Granlund

Team: Predators
Position: C/LW/RW
Rostered: 7%

The NHL's schedule isn't favorable for fantasy managers this week. Every team that has four games plays on either Thursday or Saturday - the two busiest nights of the week. This isn't ideal considering you might already have full lineups those days.

The best way around this is to add someone from the Nashville Predators or Chicago Blackhawks, who play each other during small slates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You can add a player from one of those teams, then drop him after his games are completed to add someone for the weekend push.

Granlund might be the best available player between the two sides. He hasn't set the world on fire lately, but he's averaging nearly 20 minutes per night over his last 10 games and plays on the top power-play unit.

Viktor Arvidsson (45%) and Ryan Ellis (46%) would be ideal adds, but chances are they're already rostered. Matt Duchene (21%) is also worth consideration.

Add Casey Mittelstadt

Team: Sabres
Position: C/LW/RW
Rostered: 19%

Mittelstadt appears to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Buffalo's midseason coaching change. The former eighth overall pick has been on fire since the Sabres' 18-game losing streak ended, potting seven goals and adding three assists in his last 11 contests.

Buffalo plays four times this week, but goals may be tough to come by considering three of those contests come against the stingy Boston Bruins. However, Mittelstadt is still worth a flier if you have room in your lineup.

Add Jeremy Swayman

Team: Bruins
Position: G
Rostered: 28%

I recommended adding Swayman in last week's column. However, it needs repeating considering he's still available in over two-thirds of leagues.

The 22-year-old rookie owns a 1.78 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage in five starts this season. He picked up a shutout in his last outing against the New York Islanders.

Tuukka Rask is back and started Sunday - allowing three goals in Boston's victory - but expect the Bruins to rotate their netminders this week. If that's the case, Swayman would start Tuesday and Friday - both against the bottom-feeding Sabres.
