Kings force Game 7 with 3rd straight win over Sharks
The Los Angeles Kings escaped elimination for the third time Monday night as they battled back from a 3-0 series deficit and forced Game 7 with a dominant third period - after a controversial goal - in Game 6.
The Sharks were unable to convert on four power play chances, including a 5-on-3, in Game 6, and had only six shots in the third period. A 1-1 tie in the third was broken at 11:56 after a controversial goal by Justin Williams, and the Kings would add two more goals in less than three minutes to seal the deal, winning 4-1.
Game 7 will be played Wednesday in San Jose.
Star Performer
Anze Kopitar had two goals and an assist in the game, scoring twice in the third after Williams' goal to keep the Kings' season alive. Justin Williams also finished with two goals - one of them the game-winner - and an assist. He lives for elimination games:
Per @EliasSports, Williams has 7 goals in 8 games when the Kings are facing elimination.

Turning Point
As both teams sensed the third period winding down, still tied 1-1, Justin Williams pushed Sharks goaltender Alex Stalock into the net with his stick and the puck, on the ice inbetween the goalie's legs, followed. The goal was reviewed and stood, much to the anger of the Sharks.

Quote of the Night
Kings captain Dustin Brown said his team never wavered in their belief that they could come back to tie the series.
"Being down 0-3 wasn't where we wanted to be, but we never lost hope."
Sharks head coach Todd McLellan, meanwhile, won't be getting much sleep Monday night:
Todd McLellan, on the game-winning goal: "We got cheated, simple as that." More quotes to come.

The Kings now have a chance to complete a historic comeback, but history doesn't bode well for Game 7:
#Kings with chance to become 4th #NHL team to come back from 3-0 series deficit. 3 of 176 have done it before @hockeynight
