Warriors' Stephen Curry on Mark Jackson: 'I love coach more than anybody'

If the Warriors' upper management have their sights set on firing head coach Mark Jackson, they'll have to console their franchise point guard.

Fresh off the Golden State Warriors' Game 7 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night, Curry was asked to comment on his relationship with Jackson, and his coach's future.

First, Curry praised his coach for his handling of the "circus" surrounding the team this season:

What Coach has gone through this year has been unlike anything I’ve seen–just the amount of distractions and the circus that’s been around him and decisions he’s had to make.

Curry went on to profess his affection for Jackson, and admitted that he would be surprised in the case of Jackson's dismissal:

I love Coach more than anybody. And I think for him to be in a situation where his job is under scrutiny and under question is totally unfair. And it would definitely be a shock to me if anything like that were to happen.

Finally, Curry admitted that he believed coming into the season that Jackson's status as head coach was going to be "a long-term solution".

These recent developments aren't necessarily new, as Jackson's players have routinely expressed appreciation for their coach. However, it's widely rumored that the Warriors management staff do not reportedly get along with Jackson, and are highly interested in making a change.

Jackson has a team option left on his contract with the Warriors. For more on this ongoing saga, see the stories below.
