38-year-old Tim Duncan looked like a player in his prime on Monday, scoring a team-high 27 points on 11-of-19 shooting for the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Duncan was used sparingly in the fourth quarter after shooting 1-for-6 in the third.
Duncan's struggles coincided with San Antonio briefly relinquishing the lead, but he scored three quick points before checking out in the third quarter to put the Spurs up by 4. He grabbed three defensive rebounds and made a layup in under three minutes of play late in the fourth to seal the victory.
