With the 25th overall pick at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, the Boston Bruins selected Czech forward David Pastrnak.
Pastrnak likes to use his breakaway speed and deft hands to catch defenders off-guard, often leading to a clear scoring chance for him or a teammate. He possesses a quick shot, but often elects to pass if the play is available.
Pastrnak's physical game is a concern, considering he regularly lost puck battles while playing in the second tier of Swedish hockey and his season was cut short due to a concussion. His defensive game is practically non-existent, which will hurt his draft stock more than anything else.
Pastrnak will need to bulk up and improve his play in his own zone over the next few seasons. If he does, his offensive potential will carry him to the NHL and give opposing defenses fits.
