Report: Nearly 10 teams express interest in veteran Boyle on day 1 of free agent interview period
Former San Jose Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle, whose negotiating rights are currently owned by the New York Islanders (although he's now free to talk to other teams), is generating a lot of interest in the days before the opening of the free agent market according to multiple reports.
Earlier on Wednesday it was reported that teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings had all reached out to Boyle's camp on the first day of the free agent interview period. In total, it seems that roughly a third of the league - including the ultimate wild card team - reached out to Boyle, per TVA's Renaud Lavoie:
On Dan Boyle, around 10 teams showed interest. Rangers and Flyers are among those teams. #tvasports

Adds TSN's Darren Dreger:
It was a brisk day in the Boyle camp, at least eight teams have made contact with Boyle's representatives, and many of those teams will meet with his representatives on Thursday.
Boyle will turn 38 this summer and is looking for a two-year deal. With nearly a third of the league attempting to woo the former Stanley Cup and Olympic gold medal winner, he's unlikely to have any trouble getting that.
