The Toronto Blue Jays made a minor transaction Monday to bolster their minor league depth.

Wallace, a first-round selection of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2008, has spent the majority of his playing career in Houston. He does, however, have previous ties to the Blue Jays organization.

He was originally drafted by Toronto in 2005, but did not sign with the team. Wallace was later dealt to the Blue Jays via the Oakland Athletics for Michael Taylor, before eventually being traded to Houston.

The left-handed hitting first baseman has 10 home runs with a .265/.329/.391 slash line in 90 games with the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate Norfolk.
