Blue Jays GM: Aaron Sanchez is 'ready right now'

Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos provided a hearty endorsement Sunday of top prospect Aaron Sanchez, who is "ready right now" after making "tremendous strides" to refine his delivery, according to Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith.

Selected 34th overall in the 2010 draft, Sanchez is widely expected to join the Blue Jays at some point in the near future, a promotion portended by his recent move to the bullpen with Triple-A Buffalo. The 22-year-old right-hander is expected to provide reinforcements for Toronto's tired relief corps, which owns a 4.35 ERA  this season, the fifth-worst mark in the major leagues.

Though control problems have dogged Sanchez throughout his professional career, the young hurler boasts an overpowering fastball and owns an impressive 59.8 percent ground-ball rate in Triple-A this season.
