Report: Blue Jays to recall Aaron Sanchez

Reuters

The Toronto Blue Jays will reportedly recall top prospect Aaron Sanchez from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, industry sources told Sportsnet's Shi Davidi.

Selected in the first round of the 2010 draft, Sanchez was recently relegated to the bullpen in Buffalo, a move that portended an imminent promotion to the major leagues.

Lauded for his electric stuff, Sanchez owns a 3.95 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP across 20 starts and two relief appearances this season between Double-A and Triple-A, issuing 57 walks while allowing just six home runs over 100 1/3 innings.

Armed with just three right-handed relievers, Toronto's bullpen has struggled mightily of late, and owns the fourth-worst earned run average in the majors this season.
