The Toronto Blue Jays will have to wait a little longer to get slugger Edwin Encarnacion back in the lineup.

Encarnacion, who landed on the disabled list with a quad strain July 7, was on track to return sometime next week but the recent development could postpone that.

In 88 games this season, the 31-year-old has 26 home runs and 70 RBI to go with a .277/.368/.591 line.

Juan Francisco, Dan Johnson and Jose Bautista have all filled in at first base in Encarnacion's absence
