A process of elimination has begun regarding the landing spot for Boston Red Sox starter Jon Lester.

After the Red Sox announced Lester would be scratched from Wednesday's start as a precaution, the wave of potential target teams began to be crossed off the list.

American League East rivals the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles are reportedly not in the mix according to Rob Bradford of WEEI, while Ken Rosenthal adds that the NL Central leading Milwaukee Brewers are also not giving chase.

That leaves just 26 other destinations around the league that could potentially serve as a new home for the 30-year-old three-time All-Star for the remainder of the season.

One of those destinations could be the Miami Marlins. The Marlins are reportedly one of seven teams that have reached out to the Red Sox about Lester, according to Jim Bowden
