Speaking at the Soccerex Global Convention, Manchester City head of infrastructure development and corporate responsibility Pete Bradshaw provided an update on the club's new first-team training base, the City Football Academy.

"Last year we had one of the worst summers we have had with a lot of rain and that put everything back three months," Bradshaw said

"We hoped to catch up. We haven't managed to do that, so we will take the international break in October to move the first team, the half-term break to move the academy and the rest of the staff will move a fortnight after that. We have worked very closely with the first-team coaches and managers to make sure it is not disruptive."

City had initially aimed to open their state-of-the-art facility in time for the preseason, but as Bradshaw mentioned, bad weather caused a delay in construction. The training base, which cost $324 million to build, was set up on an 80-acre brownfield site and features 17 pitches in addition to a 7,000-capacity stadium.
