Martin Brodeur waiting for a team to 'develop a need,' agent says

Ed Mulholland / USA TODAY Sports

In search of an employer to facilitate his 22nd NHL season (and stage his 700th career win) Martin Brodeur and his representatives remain unruffled –  much like their telephones.

"We knew all along we would have to be patient," his agent Pat Brisson said via ESPN's Pierre LeBrun. "Marty is prepared to wait this out, knowing that at some point a team may very well develop a need.

"Marty is in a good place. It's not like he's phoning me every 10 minutes. He's going to be patient."

With most training camps opening in a little less than a week, it appears Brodeur will be waiting, wishing and preparing for an opportunity by his lonesome.
