Kyle Busch dominates in Saturday night Truck Series win
Kyle Busch fell short of winning Saturday afternoon’s Nationwide Series race, but he made up for it in the Truck Series race later that night, winning the Lucas Oil 225 at Chicagoland Speedway.
To say that Busch has dominated his Truck Series appearances this year is an understatement. He started Saturday night's race from the rear of the field because he missed practice, then worked his way up to the front.
In the middle of the race, Busch got penalized for being too fast exiting pit road and had to once again drop to the rear of the field.
Busch overcame the penalty once again, and passed teammate Darrell Wallace Jr., Matt Crafton, and Cup Series regular Austin Dillon to get back to the lead where he held on for the rest of the night.
This is the fourth Truck Series win for Busch in five starts at Chicagoland. He led 66 of the 150 laps run on Saturday night.
Unofficially, Matt Crafton is now the points leader, leading his ThorSport Racing teammate Johnny Sauter by 5 points.
