Report: Johansen, agent present 2-year contract proposal to Blue Jackets

Restricted free agent center Ryan Johansen and his agent, Kurt Overhardt, have reportedly extended a new two-year contract proposal to the Columbus Blue Jackets, as per Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch.
What isn't known, however, is the valuation of the proposal.
While a variety of contract lengths have been proposed over the summer months, the sticking point is well known to be the base salary, with the two sides as far apart as $3 million.
Until that gap is bridged, the increasingly contentious stalemate will only continue.
