André Burakovsky showed off some of the puckhandling skills that made him the Washington Capitals' 2013 first-round draft pick during Sunday's preseason game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Burakovsky received a pass from Jason Chimera and dragged it around the outstretched arms of Buffalo defenseman Joel Armia before firing the puck into the top corner with a quick wrist shot that fooled goalie Nathan Lieuwen.

Burakovsky recorded 41 goals and 87 points in 57 games last season with the OHL's Erie Otters, his first taste of North American hockey. The Austrian left winger began his professional career in Sweden before being drafted 23rd overall by Washington.

The goal, scored 13:14 into the first period, was the only scoring in the preseason contest. Capitals netminder Braden Holtby stopped 19 shots in two periods of action.
