Suns sign Morris twins to extensions

The Phoenix Suns reportedly locked up a both Markieff and Marcus Morris to four-year contract extensions, the team announced Monday morning. 

The Morris brothers may be identical twins, but they have not signed identical contracts. Markieff, the 6-foot-10, 13th overall pick in the 2011 draft, reportedly signed for $32 million over four years. Marcus, a 6-foot-9, 14th overall pick in that same draft, signed for $20 million over four. 

The Morris twins both enjoyed the best years of their career last season, posting career highs in every major statistical category in their first season as teammates. 

Marcus played 82 games, averaging 9.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and hit 38.1 percent of his three-pointers. Markieff posted 13.8 points, and six rebounds per game while shooting 48.6 percent from the field. 

The duo became the 13th pair of brothers to be NBA teammates on Feb. 21, 2013, when Marcus was acquired in a trade with the Houston Rockets. The played together for three seasons in college with the Kansas Jayhawks.
