Tomas Tatar took it on the button, but it doesn't appear the Detroit Red Wings will be without him for opening night following a heavy collision with a linesman Wednesday.
Babcock said after the game that Tatar is "fine," via the Detroit Free Press.
The incident came late in the Red Wings' 2-0 exhibition loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins when Blake Comeau shoved Tatar toward a linesman, who, in an attempt to avoid contact, drove his knee into the young Red Wings' helmet.
