France send Laurent Koscielny back to Arsenal for tests on Achilles injury

There's no end to Arsenal's injury crisis as defender Laurent Koscielny has joined the long list of wounded players.

The French national team's medical staff discovered Thursday that Koscielny is suffering from an Achilles tendon injury ahead of the European Championship qualifiers.

Arsenal claim the move is a precautionary measure before they perform tests to verify the seriousness of the injury, while reports in France suggest acute tendinitis in both Achilles tendons is the primary cause for concern, according to The Guardian's David Hytner.

It's the latest injury to hit the squad after Mesut Ozil was ruled out for 10-12 weeks by the German national team on Wednesday when they detected a partial ligament tear in his left knee.

Questions will be asked once again about the competence of the Arsenal medical staff since both players competed in the team's last Premier League fixture against Chelsea on Sunday without any reports either player suffering an injury.
