Following a complaint from Spain’s National Association of Coaches (CENAFE) that Zinedine Zidane is acting beyond his official job description as assistant coach, the hero of the 1998 World Cup final could reportedly be facing a lengthy suspension.

According to Marca, the Federacion Espanola de Futbol (FEF) has proposed that Zidane receive a three-month ban for carrying out coaching duties without the proper license at Real Madrid B, where Sergio Sanchez is officially documented as the side's manager.

Acting as a manager without the proper credentials can lead to a suspension that ranges anywhere between one to six months, and Zidane, who became an assistant coach at Real Madrid Castilla in July, does not yet possess the level-3 national coaching diploma needed to manage in Spain.

Accusers have presented documental and video evidence that suggest Zidane is carrying out Sanchez's duties, and Spain's Competitions Committee, which holds the final say in any suspension, could assign a ban to Zidane as early as the end of next week.
