Bengals' A.J. Green: 'I can get through the season and play at a high level'

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis offered reasons for optimism regarding the status of wide receiver A.J. Green during his news conference Monday.

However, in an appearance on the NFL Network on Tuesday morning, Green poured cold water on that news.

“It’s still up in the air,” Green said, as reported by ProFootballTalk, “but it definitely feels better.  We’ll see about this week.”

Green also indicated it's unlikely he'll be fully healthy until at least 2015.

“It’s probably not gonna be 100 percent, but I hope it’s just manageable,” he said.  “I can get through the season and play at a high level.”

Asked about his status for this weekend's game against the Baltimore Ravens, Green said, “I hope so, man.  It’s still up in the air, and we’ll see."

The Bengals have gone 0-2-1 since a 3-0 start.
