Florida State issues become topic during Florida governor's debate

Florida State's off-field issues have transcended the gridiron and entered into the political arena.

During Florida's Govenors' debate on Tuesday, the dueling candidates - Republican Gov. Rick Scott and challenging Democrat Charlie Crist - were asked a question pertaining to Florida State football players and crime accusations.

The question: "Some Florida State University football players are accused of crimes; does FSU have a serious problem?"

Crist, who graduated from Florida State in 1978, reportedly stated that the issues at Florida State are serious, but not exclusive to that particular university.

Meanwhile, Scott called for a review of allegations surrounding the Seminoles and reiterated that all students attending the university should be held to the highest standards.
