Patriots finalize trade for Akeem Ayers

Akeem Ayers is officially a New England Patriot. 

The Patriots announced that they acquired Ayers in a trade with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday morning. To make room for Ayers, New England released linebacker Ja'Gared Davis.

Ayers was selected in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Titans. The 25-year-old struggled to gain playing time this season, recording three tackles in two games.
