Patriots' Darrelle Revis sent home for being late Tuesday

Brace Hemmelgarn / USA TODAY Sports

Not even star cornerback Darrelle Revis is above the rules of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

Revis was late to arrive at the team facility on Tuesday and Belichick sent him home for the rest of the day, according to Ben Volin of The Boston Globe

Belichick has a history of sending a message when it comes to tardiness. Brandon Spikes was late for a meeting last January and was placed on injured reserve shortly after, which many felt was punishment for breaking the team rule.

Revis had this to say to CSNNE.com on Wednesday about the issue.

"That's between me and coach (Bill Belichick). Ask him about it."

No word yet on if Revis will face any further discipline as it relates to Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.
