VIDEO: Perez, Strickland exchange words in heated confrontation
John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports
Things got testy in Game 2 of the World Series after San Francisco Giants reliever Hunter Strickland allowed yet another postseason home run.
After surrendering a two-run homer to Kansas City Royals second baseman Omar Infante, Strickland exchanged words with Royals catcher Salvador Perez, who scored on the home run, prompting the benches to clear.
It's unclear what sparked the confrontation, but there was speculation on the FOX Sports broadcast that Strickland was originally screaming profanities at himself.
It appears as though Perez took it another way.
The homer was the fifth Strickland has surrendered this postseason, tying Chris Narveson as the only relievers in Major League Baseball history to allow that many in a single postseason.
