Report: NFLPA initiates formal review into Chargers' handling of Jahleel Addae

The NFLPA is initiating a formal review of the handling of San Diego Chargers safety Jahleel Addae's concussion in Thursday's game versus the Denver Broncos, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Addae was evaluated on the sideline twice and then allowed to return to the game after appearing to be woozy following a collision. On Friday, he was re-evaluated by team doctors and diagnosed with a concussion.

A process is in place for NFLPA directors to review the case and assess where and why the failures happened.

According to ProFootballTalk the league was also monitoring the situation and was not happy about Addae being permitted to re-enter the game:

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the league office was dismayed by the failure of the team, the game officials, the sideline medical experts, and the persons given the task of monitoring the game from the press-box level to spot what instantly was noticed during the game at 345 Park Avenue:  That Addae was in distress and needed to immediately come out of the game.
