Report: Blue Jays' Buehrle 'will be made available' in trade talks

The Toronto Blue Jays are reportedly looking to unload an expensive piece of their 2015 roster.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe is reporting that left-hander Mark Buehrle will be made available in a trade, but his $19-million contract will likely be a deterrent unless the Blue Jays are willing to retain some of his salary.

Buehrle earned his first All-Star appearance in five seasons in 2014 thanks to a 10-6 record and 2.64 ERA in the first half of the season, though he faltered following the midsummer classic. In his final 13 starts, the 35-year-old went 3-4 with a 4.64 ERA.

Should the Blue Jays be unable to move Buehrle, he will be the second-highest-paid player on the roster next season behind shortstop Jose Reyes.
