Report: Braves hire Kevin Seitzer as hitting coach

The Atlanta Braves have reportedly filled their vacancy at hitting coach, though it appears the Toronto Blue Jays will have to find a new one, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman.

Seitzer was officially hired by the Blue Jays last October and enjoyed a solid inaugural campaign as Toronto's hitting coach. Seitzer, who eared two All-Star berths throughout his 12-year career, helped the Blue Jays manage a 105 weighted runs created plus (wRC+) in 2014, the fifth-best mark in baseball.

The Braves, meanwhile, were left without a hitting coach when Greg Walker resigned Sept. 30. The club's offense struggled mightily in 2014, averaging fewer runs per game that all but one major-league club.
