Cowboys' Jason Garrett says Jerry Jones did not demand Tony Romo return to game

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones did not demand that quarterback Tony Romo return to Monday's game against the Redskins after leaving with a back injury, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

Jones was seen skulking around the sidelines during the game, and delivered the news to his head coach that Romo was healthy enough to return to the game.

"I think the ideal situation is to get it communicated as quickly as possible and (Jones) felt like he could do it," Garrett told reporters. "It wasn't a big deal to me at all."

The perception that Jones was undermining the authority of his head coach by personally reporting the news, effectively leaving Garrett no choice but to re-insert Romo into the game, was shot down by Garrett.

"Don't worry about [how] things are being portrayed," Garrett said.
