TCU's Emanuel Porter could start in place of Josh Doctson

Despite a seemingly quick recovery, it doesn't appear that TCU's leading wide receiver is ready just yet.

After head coach Gary Patterson cited drastic improvement in wide receiver Josh Doctson's ailing ankle, he said Wednesday that freshman Emanuel Porter could start in his place on Saturday against West Virginia, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Carlos Mendez reports.

“Emanuel keeps getting better,” he said. “We thought in the middle of the season he’d start coming on, and he’s started to come on."

In last week's blowout, Porter caught two passes for 22 yards filling in for Doctson, highlighted by a 12-yard touchdown catch.
