Fantasy Footnotes: Ingram, Graham power Saints offense

Bob Donnan / USA TODAY Sports

Every gameday during the regular season, theScore's fantasy editors recap the most important news and notes from around the league.

Ingram giving Saints an added element on offense

The New Orleans Saints have been one of the most efficient passing teams in the NFL ever since Sean Payton and Drew Brees joined the organization, but Mark Ingram is making the attack even scarier these days.

Ingram followed up an impressive performance last week with 100 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries against the Carolina Panthers.

With Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson banged up, Ingram appears to have taken over as the workhorse back for New Orleans.

Graham looks healthy again

Saints tight end Jimmy Graham gave fantasy owners quite a scare a few weeks back when he suffered a shoulder injury, but those issues appear to be a thing of the past.

Graham caught seven balls for 83 yards and a score against the Panthers, and was moving around with ease.

Other Notable Fantasy Lines

Drew Brees, QB, Saints
24-of-34 for 297 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
The fact that the Saints are leaning on the run more may not be ideal for Brees.

Brandin Cooks, WR, Saints
3 catches for 38 yards
It seems like every other week Cooks posts a decent game. This subpar performance was right on schedule.

Marques Colston, WR, Saints
3 catches for 36 yards
With the Saints running the ball more and having so many different targets, Colston has been lost in the shuffle the past two weeks.

Cam Newton, QB, Panthers
10-of-28 for 151 yards, 1 INT, 7 carries for 48 yards, 1 TD
If not for his rushing totals it would have been a nightmare outing. There just isn't enough talent around him for fantasy owners to rely on solid performances from Newton.

Greg Olsen, TE, Panthers
3 catches for 30 yards
The Panthers have to find a way to target him more in that offense. Olsen is too talented to have just four targets in a game the Panthers were trailing most of the way.

Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Panthers
2 catches for 18 yards
He had a drop in the end zone and then Newton missed him later for an easy score.

Injury Ward

DeAngelo Williams, RB, Panthers
Williams returned from an ankle sprain that saw him sidelined since Week 4. He only received eight carries but posted a 30-yard reception on which he made a few defenders miss. He should have more of a role in the offense in the coming weeks.

Waiver Wire

Kenny Stills, WR, Saints
Stills has 232 yards receiving and 14 catches over the last three weeks. He's a deep threat and that should work well in the play-action game now that teams will be crowding the box to stop Ingram.
