Maple Leafs' Lupul on broken hand: 'I certainly didn't expect anything was wrong'

John E. Sokolowski / USA Today

For Joffrey Lupul, injury is becoming far too commonplace.

The Toronto Maple Leafs forward came to the arena Friday fully expecting to be in the lineup against the Columbus Blue Jackets, but was greeted with the news that he broke a bone in his right hand at practice just hours before.

Lupul explained that the X-ray was simply a precaution, and that he practiced for 40 minutes after "jamming a knuckle" in the morning skate.
