Steve Downie had little time to celebrate his goal in Winnipeg on Thursday.

The Pittsburgh Penguins forward sprang out of the penalty box, received a pass from Nick Spaling and beat Ondrej Pavelec with a backhand move to put his team up 2-1 late in the second period.

He was promptly shoved into the boards by big Winnipeg Jets forward Dustin Byfuglien.

A brief skirmish ensued, after which Byfuglien was sent off for cross-checking and Downie found himself back in the box for roughing.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety may be taking a look at this one, with Byfuglien ending up a little lighter in the wallet.
