Report: Cavaliers leaning towards starting Joe Harris

Injuries to the Cleveland Cavaliers' backcourt have head coach David Blatt looking for answers.

With offensive specialist Dion Waiters struggling to find his mark, and defensive specialist Matthew Dellavedova out with injury, Blatt is reportedly leaning towards starting rookie Joe Harris at shooting guard, reports Jason Llyod of the Akron Beacon Journal.

Harris was selected 33rd overall this summer by the Cavaliers. He profiled as a shooting guard with excellent range and decent spot-up ability, but he wasn't considered a serious contender to crack the Cavaliers' rotation, let alone starting lineup.

In five games played this season, Harris has scored a grand total of 13 points while connecting on just 36.4 percent of his field-goal attempts. However, Harris was able to chip in with solid minutes off the bench over his last two games, registering a combined plus-42 in close to 40 minutes of play.

In all likelihood, Harris's time in the starting lineup will be temporary. Once Waiters' shot starts to fall, or Dellavedova returns from injury, Harris should be pushed back to the bench.
