Knicks' Shumpert likely to return Tuesday

The New York Knicks should have Iman Shumpert back in the lineup when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.

Shumpert missed the team's game Sunday against Denver due to a hip contusion. It was originally thought he could miss multiple games, but the team is calling him probable for Tuesday's outing.

With Shumpert sidelined Sunday, J.R. Smith drew his first start of the season at shooting guard, helping the Knicks snap their seven-game losing skid with a 10-of-16, 28-point performance. Shumpert has started the bulk of the team's games dating back to his 2011-12 rookie season, as his defensive abilities bring a nice balance to the starting unit, while Smith's scoring is appreciated off the bench.

In 10 games this season, the 24-year-old Shumpert is averaging career highs of 12.4 points and 3.2 assists, while hitting an unsustainable but encouraging 53.3 percent of his 3-point attempts.
