Delonte West released by Chinese team

Delonte West and Michael Beasley are no longer sharing the floor for Yao Ming's Shanghai Sharks.

The Sharks released West this week after he played in just four games. West was said to be playing on a non-guaranteed deal that could have netted him nearly $1 million if things went well, which they obviously did not.

It's unclear where the 31-year-old West will go from here. After falling out of the NBA in 2012 amid battles with mental illness, West spent time in the D-League and China trying to work his way back. He had some brief flirtations with NBA teams this summer, including Doc Rivers' Los Angeles Clippers, but was unable to catch on anywhere.

West averaged 12.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in his four games, with head coach Ma Yuenan telling reporters that the team didn't expect such a dropoff from 2013-14, when West averaged 23.7 points for Fujian Xunxing.

For those curious, Beasley is averaging 28.1 points, 12 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.1 steals in seven games with the Sharks, shooting 45.2 percent from the floor and attempting a field goal every 98.3 seconds.
